She completed a Higher Diploma of Secondary Teaching (Art and Craft) at Victoria State College, Melbourne in 1975 and a Graduate Diploma of Fine Art (Painting) at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), Melbourne in 1978.
